Elite Wigs is a wig supplying company in Southampton. I was tasked to redesign a website which includes an about page which explains the background of the business. A products page which shows the range of wigs. Finally, a contact page which has contact details and a form to fill out and book an appointment.
I have made a simple navigation bar along the top of the webpage which is going to be “sticky”.
The hero section I chose to use a large image of a lady with a wig on smiling conveying confidence.
To the left is a heading which says “walk around with confidence”, linking to the image. Underneath has a subheading and two call to actions. I chose the CTA “book an appointment” and “view products” because this leads the customer to view Elite Wigs supply and making it quick to book an appointment.
Underneath this I added a section with three rows explaining why the customer needs to book an appointment.
I then added a section showing the process you will go to if you choose to use Elite Wigs services.
Testimonials are used to create trust and social proof. So I thought it would be important to add these to the home page.
This was my first time exploring website design, I found it really fun learning how to use Adobe XD and have noticed the power it has as a prototyping program. I feel I learned lots about layout in web design, such as using grids for layout. I also looked at where you should place certain sections and call to actions to create a fluid, positive experience. For example, using a “book an appointment” button on the hero to make it quick and simple for the customer to get an appointment and visit Elite Wigs.
I look forward to coding and publishing Elite Wigs website once I have learned to code as this is an ongoing project.
